Citigroup Bonus

The Citigroup Inc has sort permission of the US treasury to pay their employees special bonuses. It is also looking for means to free an energy-trading unit from government restrictions. The government is yet to make up its mind in this regard. The Citigroup is planning to call these as retention bonuses but are still looking into several options. This is a way in which they are trying to deal with people threatening to leave from their government restricted unit due to pay restrictions. Citigroup is looking into various options to bring the unit from under government and even are thinking about either spinning off Phibro into a hedge fund to bring in outside investors.
